December 2, 2016

Hey everyone,

Happy December!

I was going to do a post yesterday but since I flooded you guys with all my November post on social media I decided to wait until today.

November post...wow!  It was so hard being committed to something everyday.  It was even harder to post all, maybe 33, post in a day on my social media pages, however, I did it!

Thankfully, haha, I am thankful...it is over.  I felt overwhelmed having to post every single day.  I do NOT!!! like deadlines.  I like to be late and spontaneous, you know, disappear for a week and then show up like, "HEYYYYY!!!! Did you miss me?"  And by view numbers, yes, yes you did.  Since you miss me you should make sure to like my Facebook page, which you can very conveniently find under Brittani Laws Writing.

That all being said, December is here and didn't it get here quick.  We have less then a month until a New Year.  I'm not sure I want to make goals this month.  Sure there is a lot I would love to do before the New Years but I am not sure I want to make plans for anything specific.

I might so some more Chat Snap Post, may try some videos, who knows.  Keep checking and you will see.

In the mean time I hope everyone has a good night, is safe and has fun.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 25

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 25 of Rememebering to Be Thankful!  Hope everyone had a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for Social Media.

I know alot of you are proabably like, "Ugh, why?"

Well for one you probably found this blog on a social media.  Isn't it fantastic how you can communicate with the world sitting at your house, in your car(not driving) , at the store or anywhere.

I am not saying not to have regular communication with people.  Travel and make friends.  That is great.  I am saying how great it is we are all connected at the touch of a button.  How it can help us love and appricate each other.  It is so fantastic.

Yes I am aware there are many problems on social media but I am also aware of all the good it can bring too.

The good is what I am thankful for.  Hope you have a good and safe Black Friday.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 23

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 23 of Rememebering to Be Thankful.

Today I am expressing my Thankfulness for Tithe.

God's money.  He requires so little for us.  Though we do not live by the law I do try and give with an open heart 10% so He can build His Kingdom.

Someone once told me that they might could not use $20 in many ways but God could.

This is so true.  It is like the more you give the more you want to give.  You become more aware of those around you.

So I am thankful for Tithe and how positive it effects your heart.

And as always, I am aways thankful for a Good God, All the Time.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 20

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 20 of Rememebering to Be Thankful.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for Gladness and Joy.

During the sermon this morning the preacher was speaking about Jesus was a man who knew suffering and grief, yet He had more Gladness in His Heart than any.

It makes me so thankful for gladness and joy.

"This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 18 of Rememebering to Be Thankful.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for Tanglewood's Festivle of the Lights(who are celebrating their 25th year this year).

It is really great to have traditions I think.  It is even more great to pass them traditions down to your children.

Like my parents use to take me, now I take my son to see the Festivle of the Lights at Tanglewood.

It is a great family outing that is fantastic for children and adults.  I've taken my son quit a bit since he was a baby and he loves looking at all the beauitful lights.  I am so thankful to have such a beautiful Light Festivle so close to me.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness to one of my Best Friends, my kitty cat Fluffy.

I got Fluffy a little bit after I moved into my house from a co-worker when he was just a kitten and have had him ever since.  He is my buddy.  He runs to me when I come in the door, sleeps on my at night, jumps into my arm and presses his nose against me when I am sad.  This kitty adores me and my son.  He is such a good kitty and I am so glad he is in my life.

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 16

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 16.  I guess it's all downhill from here.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for Cooking, baking in general.

One of the best things about a house is coming home to the smell of freshly cooking food or baked goods.  It makes it feel warm and like a child again.  It soothes the mind and satisfies the...stomach.

I enjoyed the joy of reading at a very young age.  I remember before I even knew how to read my mommy reading to me.  There was something exciting about a good book.  How it would capture you and would drag you into its world.  Traveling to new worlds and meeting new people without ever even leaving your house.  It is something worth appreciating.

Words have so much power.  So make sure when you say them or read them they are the right words.

Sincerely,

I know this sounds kind of like a silly thing to be Thankful for however it is more then what is sounds like.

My mommy, yes that's right, 20 something year old here saying mommy, my mommy has been taking me to The Southern Christmas Show when it comes around since I was just a little girl.  Now even though I am not a little girl anymore, her, my sister, and I try to go every year together.

We walk in and look around at all the different Christmas Trees, shops and food stands while laughing and having a good time spending time and appreciating each other.

It is just a really great thing to get to take the time to stop and see.  I am so thankful my mommy takes me to the Southern Christmas Show each year and for the time I get to spend with her.

Today I would like to express Thankfulness for Prayer.

I know the first 3 days I cover my thankfulness for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but how great prayer is!

The ability to have a special connection to Jesus and talk to Him on a daily basis.  It is a peace unlike any other.  It is only the kind of peace that comes from God.  It is the ability to call out for His help and send Him praise.  It is a time to listen and to hear.  It is the best time in the world.

Sweet Hour of prayer
That calls me from a world of care
And bids me at my Father's throne*

Today I would like to express my thankfulness for my car.

I've had a couple cars but no car that ran as good as my current car.  I wasn't expecting it when I got it and am so thankful for it.  I don't have to worry about it messing up when I drive off and it so nice.

It's a 2014 Toyota Corolla S.  It is fantastic!   Just talking about it makes me want to drive off and get lost somewhere.

Picture taken 12/10/2015 (last year)

Today is a fun one, today I am thankful for my house.

My house is like my own personal hobbit hole.  It is not a hole and it is not in a ground but in fact my house, "it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."*  It is my Bag End.  With all my family around it feels like a Shire.  Fantastic.

Taken this year, still working on other lights because some went out.

It is always nice to travel to see the elves or go on an adventure, but returning to my garden afterwards is wonderful.

It may not be much to many but it is mine and a lot to me.

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 8

Hello Everyone,

The first 3 days I expressed my thankfulness for God, Day 4 I expressed my thankfulness for my son, Day 5 I expressed my thankfulness for my family, Day 6 I expressed my thankfulness for my friends and Day 7 I expressed my
thankfulness for my church, Monticello Baptist Church.

Today I would like to express my thankfulness for my job.

I know to most people when I tell them I work in chicken houses either don't know what it is or think it is terrible.

I think it is a blessing.  I work with my family and though I can't do everything because of my arm(car wreck) I am glad for what I can do.

It is very nice work with people I love everyday and somewhere that is easier on my son.

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 7

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 7 of my Remembering to be Thankful.  The first 3 days I expressed my thankfulness for God, Day 4 I expressed my thankfulness for my son, Day 5 I expressed my thankfulness for my family, and Day 6 I expressed my thankfulness for my friends.

For Day 7 I would like to express my thankfulness for my church, Monticello Baptist Church.

I have not consistently got to go every Sunday, mostly because of work but more then a few times because of laziness too.

It is nice though, to have a church I love to wake up on Sunday mornings and be apart of.   The people there are not striving to be perfect but to let Jesus have His Will in their lives.  They are there to serve a PERFECT GOD and deliver the message of Jesus Christ to the world.

I do not worry about being criticized because of what I wear or don't wear, or because of what I have or don't have, because I am very aware that the people there love each other and their eyes are on Jesus.

When you find the church God wants you to be apart of to build up His Kingdom it is bigger than yourself.  All parts of the body are working together and working for God to do His Will.  You are all family.

I am so thankful for the church God has me in right now and am ever so blessed to do the work He gave to me.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

P.S.  If you don't have a church you are attending right now and are looking for one or maybe think God is telling you it is time to move or just want to stop by definitely come visit Monticello Baptist Church.

Here is a link to the churches website that include service time and church location: Monticello Baptist Church

Dollywood Trip (From October 1, 2016)

Hello everyone,

I told you guys I did do quit a bit in October.  One of the very first things I did in October was go to Dollywood with my family.  It was not my first time there but it was very fun and special.  Here are some collages of what all we did.

Some of the awesome Fall decorations they had around the park.

Some of these are in the car and others are everyone throughout the park.

Riding rides with Levi.

We had a lot of fun.  I can't wait to go back,

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 6

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 6 of my Remembering to be Thankful.  The first 3 days I expressed my thankfulness for God, Day 4 I expressed my thankfulness for my son, and Day 5 I expressed my thankfulness for my family.

For Day 6 I would like to express my thankfulness for my friends.

All of them throughout the years.  Friends from years ago when I was in elementary school, middle school, high school and college.  Friends from soccer, softball, basketball, and cheer-leading.  Friends from internships and work.  Friends from church, knitting groups and coffee houses. People I met out of no where and were only friends with for a few hours time.  Friends I don't talk to much and we went separate ways.  Everyone impacted my life in some way.  Isn't it great to have people there in your life.  Some for a long time and some for a season.  People who always stay in your heart.

My mother taught me a song she use to sing in girl scouts a long time ago.

"Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the others gold," and I guess it always kind of stuck with me(I don't know who wrote this song so please forgive no credentials.  I did look on google but only saw it referred to as a scout song).

People come and go out of your life everyday, people change and grow apart, sometimes you just don't get to talk to each other as much, but for that time in your life, however long or short, they were apart of who you are, and I am so thankful for all my friends I have had through out the years.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 5

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 5 of my Remembering to be Thankful.  The first 3 days I expressed my thankfulness for God and Day 4 I expressed my Thankfulness for my son.

Today I would like to express my thankfulness for my family.  It would be impossible to choose person by person in order of thankfulness.  My family has been there my entire life.  Through ups and downs.  We all live very close together so we drive each other crazy but we are always right there when we need each other too.  I love my family so much and don't know what I would do without them.  I am so grateful for my family.

Sincerely,

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 3

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to Day 3 of My Remembering to Be Thankful.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for God the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit was always there from the beginning too.

"And the Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."~Genesis 1:2

The Holy Spirit was promised from the Father after Christ died on the Cross.

"And, being assembled together with them Commaned them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father, which, Said He, you have heard of Me.
For John truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence." ~Acts 1:4-5~

And The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost.

"2:1)And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2:2)And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
2:3)And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
2:4) And they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other Tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance,"
~Acts 2:1-4~

The Holy Spirit is very special in my life.  I find it hard to explain so I posted mostly scripture.  I am so very thankful for The Holy Spirit and the relationship it plays in my relationship with God.  I'm sorry this is very brief but it is well explained through out the entire Bible.  I just wanted to express my Thankfulness for The Holy Spirit the best I know how,

Sincerely,

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 2

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to Day 2 of My Remembering to Be Thankful.  I am still very excited about my second blog entry for this month.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for God the Son, Jesus.

Jesus was always there from the beginning.  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." ~John 1:1~

Jesus died for my sins.  He washed me with His blood and made me new.  Only through Him am I Saved.

"Jesus said unto Him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father but by Me.  If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also: and from Henceforth you know Him, and have seen Him." ~John 14:6-7~

Jesus tore the veil and made us one with the Father again.  He died for my sins,  He walks with me daily through all my ups and downs with life.  I have my own personal relationship with Jesus.

The day I accepted Jesus as my Savior.  I was in 5th grade.  I remember sitting in that small church, new in the Faith, accepting Jesus into my life.  I don't remember her name but I remember the woman feeling so blessed that it was her Bible that was used to lead me to the Lord.  Hearing Romans 10:9 for the first time,

"That if you shall confess with your mouth Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be Saved."

I wouldn't understand much for years to come but no matter the roads I crossed I would not give up Jesus and He held onto me because I am His.  He still hold onto me, leading me and letting me run back to Him, because I need Him.  I will always need Him.

Jesus is definitely the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  I am so thankful to have Him leading me through my life.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

Remembering to Be Thankful Day 1

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to Day 1 of My Remembering to Be Thankful.  I am very excited about my very first blog entry for this month.  I am going to at least begin my month by listing what I am thankful for in order of thankfulness, as the month goes on this will probably get harder and it will fall through but for about the first week or so I am going to try.  If it doesn't work then I will change it up.

Today I would like to express my Thankfulness for God the Father.

I know everyone out there is not religious or is religious but does not believe the same as me.  Which I am not here to push or judge anyone, however, I am here to express what I am thankful for, so please do not be negative to me and I will not be negative to you.  It is always nice to get to know one another and what is important to each other.

I am ever so thankful for God the Father, Who sent His Only Son to die for my sin.

The Bible says,
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.  For God sent not His Son into the World to condemn the world; but that the world though Him might be Saved." ~John 3:16&17

I believe this to be so beautiful and true love (Agape).  The wages of sin is death and God sent His only Son to save us, to take our place so we could live with Him forever and no longer be separated.  I feel the weight of my sin everyday and the only thing that lifts this sin is the Love that God sent here to die for me.  God is Good all the Time, and All the Time God is Good.

Romans 10:9 instructs, "That is you shall confess with your mouth Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be Saved."

I choose to believe and am so Thankful for God the Father and all He has done in my life.

Sincerely,

Remembering to Be Thankful

Hello Everyone,

I know every year I do the 7 Days of Thanksgiving on my blog and sometimes on my personal Facebook page I did the 30 Days of Thanksgiving thing like everyone else does.  This year I am going to kind of combine the two and do a Blog Entry, which will be posted on my Facebook Page(and other Social Media cites) also.  The point of this is for me to take time out of each day to focus on something I am very thankful for and to display my thankfulness.  Hopefully, I will follow through on this and make in meaningful and not rush through it or skip post.  I think I have so much to be thankful for and should take time to express my thankfulness instead of taking it for granite.  So I will be seeing you guys a lot this month and hope you guys enjoy these upcoming entry.

Reviewed Goals for October 2016 (and October Book Update)

Goals for October 2016

Hey everyone,
So here is an update for October 2016.  I know I didn't post nearly as much as I wanted to.  I started stuff I didn't finish and did things I hadn't planned.  Which is okay with me.  I'm not completely set on everything being perfect.  I like making goals and deadlines but I like not following them even more.

So my first goal was;
Goal 1: Begin a new Bible Study:
And I do plan on beginning one this month.  I decided to follow Time Warp Wife(30 Days of Gratitude) beginning on October 17 and running through Novemeber 12.  So if you would like to also follow alone with the Bible Study you have sometime to look at the resources on her page.  She is fantastic at online group studies and would definitely recommend it.

And though I did do this for a week after a week I didn't continue and got way behind.  Which is fine because I never began the Gratitude Journal I bought.  So I restarted today(November 1, 2016) and am running this through the month of November 2016 because it seems to be fitting anyways since it is the month of Thanksgiving.  Plus, I am going to do my things I am thankful for too like I normally do.

Okay, My Second goal was;
Goal 2: Read a new book every week
I did finish Suzanne Collin's last book "Mockingjay" the other day, making me finished with this series.

"The Hunger Games"
Began: September 9, 2016
Finish: September 15, 2016

"Catching Fire,"
Began: September 19, 2016
Finished September 24, 2016

"Mockingjay"
Began: September 26, 2016
Finished:October 3, 2016

I still however plan on reading at least one Halloween book every week in the month of October (which I will give you details in another entry).

And though I did start this goal I did not finish it.  I bought all the books and never even finished one of them.  Which is fine because I will have 4 new books stashed away to read later.  For the time being, I am going to sit them aside though.  I did take a picture of what they all were though which I will include below.

Which these books are(top to bottom), "The Halloween Tree" by Ray Bradbury, "Dark Harvest" by Norman Partridge, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving, and last but certainly not least The Graveyard book by one of my all time favorite authors Neil Gaiman.

Goal 3:
Write a short story every week for submission (will not be posted online).

This did not happen.  I don't think I wrote even one story.

Goal 4:
Learn something new.

I did begin learning some new art techniques but did not learn nearly as much as I wish I could have.

Goal 5:
Go somewhere new.  (Already did this, will post about later).

I did do this, I will still post this later.

Goal 6:
Carve a pumpkin :) who wouldn't make this a goal for October.

I did not do this, but I did make my very first flower  arrangement on my own for fall.

But there is the goal/reading update for October 2016.  Hopefully I will post so much this month you will get tired of reading/seeing anything from me.

Week 1 (Halloween Book 1)

Hey everyone,

Back in my goals I told everyone,
"I still however plan on reading at least one Halloween book every week in the month of October."

This week I am going to read "The Halloween Tree" by Ray Bradbury.  Which you can buy off of Amazon on sale right now.  I got my paperback copy(prime) for $4.55.

I choose this book from the Best Halloween Books off Goodreads.  It was the very first book on the list.  Since I enjoy this list so much I will probably be getting all my Halloween Titles I read this month from this, unless another catches my attention.

Some of my books will probably be kid books while other ones will be adult.  If you really want to know which is which you will have to look up online because either is fine me.  I do believe I have seen this movie, just never read the book so I am looking forward to it.

I have already choose the book I am going to read after this one, which will be Neil Gaiman's "The Graveyard Book," which can also be purchased off Amazon cheaply.  I just got my paperback copy for $8.19 after tax.

Now for the fun.

Book One, Week One, "The Halloween Tree," by Ray Bradbury.  Begin:October 5, 2016

Goals for October 2016

Hey everyone,

I know I am a little bit late on here but I do plan on posting more this month than I did last month.  Last month I kind of edged off, no excuse really other then I did.  This month however, plan to get a little bit more finished.

Firstly, well come up with some goals.  Goals are good :)

Overview Of September 2016

Hey everyone,

Here is a final update of September goals.  Even though it looks almost the same as the one before if you keep reading on you will see it is a different update I just left the book picture of "Me before You," and basic outline structure the same.

Here it is though,
September 2016 final update.

Goal 1: Start a Bible Study

I did indeed Finish a fantastic Bible Study called A Virtuous Life and is by Time Warp Wife.  If you haven't heard of her you should most certainly check out her blog which has many Bible Study's and free resources alone with some really neat things she has to offer on Amazon.

Being accountable and pursuing everyday even on the nights I feel like I didn't have time and the times I wanted to do something else I feel in the end the time I spent on my relationship with Jesus was exactly what I wanted to do despite my excuses.  This was a very nice Bible Study to begin digging deeper into the word of God.  I enjoyed it.

Goal 2: Finish a book.

Technically I just did this very thing today(Sep 1, "Me Before You") so this goal was already finished.

Goal 3: Finish another book.

I not only finished one more book for the month of September I finished 2 more books.

Suzanne Collins "The Hunger Games" from her series "The Hunger Games," is just fabulous.  If I hadn't been too busy grownuping I would have been done even sooner.  Easy to read words, simple structure, well imagined plot line and keeps you wanting to read.  Began: September 9, 2016
Finish: September 15, 2016

Suzanne Collins, "Catching Fire," book 2 from "The Hunger Games" was also fabulous, simple book to pick up and read when you have a moment.  Began: September 19 Finished September 24.

I did began Book 3 but I will put updates on it for October because I haven't completed it yet.  Confession, haven't even picked it up these last 2 days.  Not because it isn't good because I have been playing the busy card.

Goal 4: Finish a knitting project.
I have not begun any nor have I finished any.  Even though I am keeping this as a goal I have very bad wrist and will probably not be listing this as a goal goal anymore.  Just more of a "keep in the back of my head" type goal.  I would love to show you a finished piece but my wrist are just giving too hard of a time here lately.  Maybe soon they will stop hurting so bad...hopefully.

Goal 5: Write a short story.
I have not written any short story but I have wrote some.  Like my post, "The Mother I Want to Be (for my son Levi)."  Plus I have more things I am also working on.  I do want to write a new short story though.  I did do my one Blog, Candy Corn (How I became a Vampire), but this was meant more of a humorous short thing not really an actually short story.  All in all I would say I did not complete this goal.

Goal 6: Learn something new.
I learn a lot new in my Bible Study everyday.  No new skill yet though.  I thought about learning to crochet instead of just talk about it.

However, I didn't learn anything really new new this month.

Goal 7: Go somewhere new.

Unfortunately I have not got out to anywhere new yet but I will soon hopefully.  I do have somewhere nearby I want to go I have never been to before :) so hopefully soon.

So there there is an overview of my September goals and the ones I finished and did not finish.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

September 15, 2016

Possible Goals for this month update again :)

Goal 1: Start a Bible Study
Virtuous Life by Time Warp Wife is fantastic.  I'm on week 3 now and I absolutely love it.  She's just began a new bible study too and it would be very easy for anyone to quickly jump in.  So far she's a 10 out of 10.  I recommend checking this sight out completely.

Goal 2: Finish a book.  Technically I just did this very thing today(Sep 1) so this goal is already finished.

Goal 3: Finish another book.

Began: September 9, 2016
Finish: September 15, 2016

Suzanne Collins "The Hunger Games" from her series "The Hunger Games," is just fabulous.  If I hadn't been too busy grownuping I would have been done even sooner.  Easy to read words, simple structure, well imagined plot line and keeps you wanting to read.

Which is what I am going to do.  Next in line is Suzzane Coliins, "Catching Fire."  I can't wait to start it tomorrow.

Im so glad I ordered me a cool foil box set on Amazon that was on sell.  It is paperback but they are beautiful books(pictures included).

Goal 4: Finish a knitting project.
I have not begun any nor have I finished any.

Goal 5: Write a short story.
I have not written any short story but I have wrote some.  Like my post, "The Mother I Want to Be (for my son Levi)."  Plus I have more things I am also working on.  I do want to write a new short story though.

Plus I did do my Halloween Story Early Blog that got way more hits then normal so I think I'm going to revise it some.

Goal 6: Learn something new.
I learn a lot new in my Bible Study everyday.  No new skill yet though.  I thought about learning to crochet instead of just talk about it.

Goal 7: Go somewhere new.
Unfortunately I have not got out to anywhere new yet but I will soon hopefully.  I do have somewhere nearby I want to go I have never been to before :) so hopefully soon.

So there they are.  My September goals and where they are at one the 15?.  I still have a lot more I want to do this month and know I stay busy but hopefully soon I will get even more done.

Sincerely,
Brittani Laws Writing

*All Chat Snaps are taken with the Snap Chat App.  In which I highly recommend as a great fun app to get and interact with family and friends.
